Ancient Romanesque temple, remodel in the early XV century and refurbish in the XVII century by order of  Gonzalo de Valladares putting it under the patronage of St. Benito.

The facade and the towers were built in 1784, as shown by an inscription above the entrance arch.

The most prominent elements are the two baroque bell towers and the Gothic interior, where the main vault and the two interior chapels with the tombs of Gonzalo de Valladares and his wife María Ozores e Silva , and main the chapel presided  by a Baroque altarpiece, must be admired.

Two granite figures known as Balboas, dressed as warriors with mace and shield are escorting
