AREA OF CULTURE, SPORTS, EDUCATION AND LINGUISTIC STANDARDIZATION

The competences of this area consist of the promotion and management of cultural infrastructures such as the municipal library, the parish reading agencies, the museums, the exhibition halls and the spaces destined to the realization of recreational activities. Likewise, this area is responsible for the cultural programming and organization of the different municipal leisure events.
With regard to sport, this department will be responsible for the management of municipal sports infrastructures and the programming of different sporting events and will watch, especially, for the promotion of base sports.
Also, this council will depend on the maintenance of educational facilities of municipal competence. It will also be responsible for the constitution and operation of the Municipal School Council and will develop proposals for educational activities related to the culture area of the City Council and with different cultural events.
Finally this area will ensure the promotion and good use of the Galician language in the daily activity of the City of Cambados.
